Creative Spot - A poem by Mahendra (Speedy) Gonsalkorala

Fear
The brakes screech on
Sweat pours down
Halt the march now!
Uncertainty grips vow!
Confidence lost oh woe
Anxiety spreads head to toe

Dark clouds gather
The light gets dimmer
Heart thumps madly
Chest heaves rapidly
Fear grips me like a vice
Frozen stiff, a block of ice

Fear comes through ignorance
Fear the greatest hindrance
Fear curtails clear vision
Fear leads to desolation
Fear clouds judgement
Fear, the supreme impediment

You are a sage. You touched on an important emotion that has dominated our lives since childhood. Great philosophers have expressed their views but non as elegantly as you.
"To conquer fear is the beginning of wisdom"
    Bertrand Russell
    Thank you

  2. You are very kind ND. It is lovely to know that I have produced something worthwhile. You quoted the great Bertrand Russell, one of my heroes. This quote from Michel de Montaigne is also thoughtful - "There is no passion more contagious as that of fear". Best wishes
